About the event
We are honored to offer a one-day virtual LGBTQIA+ Community Building retreat. The intention of this retreat is to build connections during difficult times and experience the synergistic Energy of our group with a focus on acceptance, affirmation, encouragement, and well-being. This is a space where we can share deeply what's on our minds and in our hearts. We will acknowledge the hurt being caused to the LGBTQIA+ community and build a web of support for each participant to create an inner environment and microcosmic world that is pleasant and enjoyable. We are all capable of amazing things and the world needs us to shine our lights regardless of what others think. If this sounds like it would be helpful to you or if you would like to hold the space to focus on well-being, this gathering is for you.
The retreat will consist of meditation and movement, journaling, learning about each other, egalitarian group discussions and breakouts, exploring different perspectives, and sharing our experiences. You can participate to your comfort level. We will also have some fun! So be prepared for that too.
Together, we will learn some techniques to be with others that may have different views from us while creating our own individual plans for well-being to follow after the retreat. We will evaluate what we consume, and how we would like to live our lives, and can create routines and healthy habits. We can even check in on each other and share our experiences after the event in a private group on our website. We will have one group just for us and another where we will add participants of our LGBTQIA+ retreats in the future.
Everyone deals with adversity like this differently, and there is no judgment. If you would like to take some action we will support you to make a plan to come from a grounded place, taking well-thought-out steps that will affect change but not out of a place of emotional reaction. An upset emotion may be the driving force but it must be presented well to be received more widely. If you need to lay low and take care of yourself we support that too and can help facilitate you putting together a plan to do so.
*You will need to be in a place free of distractions for the day. Please bring a journal, a blanket, and wear comfy clothes. We will break for lunch for one hour. If you have any questions please email stacy@stacypiccolo.com or use the chat function on the website.
